CURRENCY

Both the Bulgarian lev and the euro are used. The Bulgarian lev is pegged to the euro and there are approximately three Bulgarian leva to the British pound. The lev is still widely used in shops and
restaurants etc., but it is not valued outside of Bulgaria, so you could have difficulty exchanging it
back again. We were unable to exchange Bulgarian lev notes in Prague airport for example.

Bank Notes

1 lev 2 leva
5 leva 10 leva
20 leva 50 leva
