TITLE DEEDS

The title deeds came by post about four weeks after being notarised. As they are in Bulgarian, it is probably worth paying a small additional fee to have them translated into English. We asked the translator present at the first completion to do this for us, and we asked the Bulgarian solicitor assigned to us at the second completion to arrange this for us. In each case, it took around four to eight weeks to receive the English version of the title deeds. The fee was around 25 to 30 euros.

Update 2/2/08

With regard to translation of Bulgarian documents into English and vice versa, due diligence should be taken. In a Bulgarian court, your English version of any document, stamped by a notary, translated by a legal sworn translator, is not valid. Only the original Bulgarian document can be used in disputes and court cases. The translated document is merely for your own use.
