POLICE REGISTRATION

It is our understanding that holders of ordinary passports and ID cards issued by one of the EU countries, including the UK, do not need a visa to visit Bulgaria and do not need to register with the police unless the length of each visit exceeds 90 days.

If it is your intention to stay longer or reside in the country, you must apply for a Bulgarian Id card and permission to reside in Bulgaria within the initial 90 days. This should be performed at the Police Station nearest to the residential address.
